A Resource is Just a Resource

In my work with children and young people, I love adapting books and wider resources to bring the emotional wellbeing learning and teaching to life.

I'm regularly asked by parents and other professionals to share the resources I use so that they can do the same.

In my Facebook communities I share many of these resources and you'll now find some of my favourites listed below.

All of the resources on this page are tried and tested by me and are used regularly in my classes and sessions.
I gather resources from many places. Some of these are purchased from Amazon.co.uk.

Wolf and Bear

by Kate Rolfe

The book looks at friendship and empathy. The lovely story shows us different ways of supporting our friends to work with their own emotions.

Sometimes our friends need time and space to work though their big emotions. Often young children want to be kind and fully present in helping their friends. This book explores a gentle alternative of giving our friends space to work with their emotions.

This book also has beautiful artwork which lends itself to amazing 'gentle' artwork from the children to continue the learning conversations.

Whirly Twirly Me

by Manjeet Mann

I used this book recently to explore some of the emotions behind and underneath anger.

The label of anger can often be overused and even incorrectly used and young children believe they are angry. This stops them exploring that 'something else'.

This book and the adults sharing with the children can look deeper in to that 'something else'.

I also spent time making some emotions whirly, twirly, crafts.
