Spending a bit of time during the summer holidays working on your own Emotional Health and Wellbeing has got to be a worthwhile way for our kids and teens to spend a few days!

Emotional Skills for today, tomorrow, and for life!

Our Emotions are always with us, every waking and sleeping moment.

My belief and my experience tells me that we can all live a better life if we learn skills to work with and through our emotions in healthier ways.

Tweens and Teens

Who Am I?

I have 2 lovely Wednesday Sessions for our Tweens and Teens with the topic this summer focussing on personal identity.

The 2 Wednesday sessions on 28th July & 11th August will focus on the teens identifying what is important to them (values exercises) and how best to live by these.


They can also work out where their values may clash with others, friends, family, school, etc, and learn more about working with this rather than against.


We will work on developing a clear self-image and ways to increase self-esteem, with the by-product of this being increased self-confidence.


It is ideal if both Wednesday sessions on the 28th July & 11th August are attended for the optimum learning within the ‘Who am I?’ topic. However there will be stand-alone learning within each of the sessions if only one can be attended.

Children

Emotion Detectives

For the first topic on the 29th and 30th July the topic will be on developing our Emotion Detective skills.

Often we can have a little of being an Emotions Judge within us and with this we lose a bit of our curiosity about what those emotions are trying to tell us.

We can misinterpret emotions and what they mean and this can then lead to dealing with them in the wrong way, as they may leak out in unhelpful and unhealthy ways!

Being able to be curious, name our emotions, and work through it can really help our emotion habits!


Motion & Emotion

For the second topic on 9th and 10th August we will be focussing on the mind and body connection we all have.

How they are intertwined physically and mentally. We will learn all about using this knowledge to use our minds and bodies in more helpful and healthy ways.

Working proactively to look after our mental health and developing stronger emotional regulations skills.

The optimum learning will come from the children attending as many classes as possible as the learning builds as we visit and revisit aspects of emotional literacy. However there will be stand-alone learning in each session.

Cost

£14 per single session – block booking of 2 or more sessions is £12.50 per session.

Get in touch for Sibling discounts - if your children/teens are in any of my summer classes then sibling/block discounts can be applied.

If paying in full causes financial hardship please get in touch and we can sort an appropriate payment plan.

Children:        Emotion Detectives ~ Thursday 29th & Friday 30th July
                        Motion & Emotion ~ Monday 9th & Tuesday 10th August


Tween/Teen:  Who Am I? ~ Wednesday 28th July & Wednesday 11th August

All classes run from 10am - 12noon


Venue

This summer I am making the move to the lovely SKA Dance Studio.

30/3 Hardengreen Industrial Estate, Eskbank, EH22 3NX


Details

Classes are kept to a maximum of 15 participants per session. This allows for appropriate physical distancing and also for optimum learning within the groups.


All parents will be sent a link into a SUMMER 21 private Facebook group and from there I can share booking & info forms, payment details, and as the summer proceeds I can pop on live to give updates, etc.
You can also comment and ask questions as appropriate.


All classes are 2 hours, 10am ~ 12noon, we do split midway for a short break and snack which I can supply, although they are welcome to bring their own. 


Dietary requirement information will be collected within the official booking form.


COVID Arrangements

Normally I would bring all mats and equipment to sessions however due to Covid guidelines I have to ask that children bring their own mat, blanket, cushions, and comfort toy if desired.

Everyone will be asked to use hand sanitizer on entry and I will wear my facemask when walking around, but not while distanced in my teaching space.

More practical and organisational details will come of the private Facebook group

My planning and shared equipment will all follow infections control guidelines.


In my classes I use a BREATHE acrostic to guide us through our learning.

~ Mindfulness activities, Relaxation Activities, Yoga & Movement,

Teambuilding Exercises and Games, Crafts ~

As a mindfulness teacher, children yoga instructor, life coach, and a former teacher/school leader, I blend my skills to deliver these Creative Coaching Sessions, to continually build our children and teens Emotional Literacy.
